The heir of Hermès has filed a civil lawsuit against French billionaire Bernard Arnault and LVMH regarding the transfer of shares
According to a report by Reuters, Nicolas Puech, the heir of the luxury brand Hermès, has filed a civil lawsuit against French billionaire Bernard Arnault and related parties of his LVMH luxury goods group, claiming that he has been deprived of shares in Hermès. Puech is the great-grandson of Hermès founder Thierry Hermès and alleges that his shares in Hermès were transferred years ago without his knowledge.
According to court documents, the lawsuit was filed on May 15 in the Paris court and involves 6 million shares of Hermès that once belonged to Puech, valued at approximately €14 billion ($16.3 billion). Puech indicated in the documents that he reserves the right to claim compensation from any parties found to have committed criminal offenses. The case was first heard on the 20th of last month.
According to the French magazine L'Express, Puech filed a criminal complaint early last year, accusing his late former wealth manager Eric Freymond of violating trust and misappropriating assets. The Paris public prosecutor's office confirmed that a criminal investigation into the Puech case is ongoing, but Arnault and his company have not yet been formally investigated
