HP Enterprise's AI server sales last quarter fell short of expectations, and revenue guidance was below forecasts

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE.US) announced on Thursday that it recorded new orders for AI servers worth $2 billion, which is below expectations. Quarterly revenue grew 14% year-on-year to $9.68 billion, while the market had originally expected $9.9 billion. Earnings per share were $0.62, which is higher than analysts' expectations of $0.58.

The company expects that for the quarter ending in January next year, revenue will be between $9 billion and $9.4 billion, with non-GAAP earnings per share ranging from $0.57 to $0.61. Analysts' average expectations for revenue are $9.88 billion, with earnings per share of $0.53
