Kate McShane has given her Sell rating due to a combination of factors impacting Dollar Tree’s stock. Despite the company’s recent earnings beat and raised guidance for FY25, McShane believes that the stock’s current pricing reflects its improved fundamentals, leaving limited room for further upside. She highlights concerns about a potential decline in consumer perception regarding price and value, which could pose downside risks.
Moreover, McShane expresses a preference for other discount retailers that offer stronger value propositions and are better positioned in the market. While Dollar Tree has managed to attract a diverse range of customers, including higher-income households, the overall consumer landscape remains uncertain. The company’s ongoing efforts to manage tariff-related cost pressures are acknowledged, but these challenges contribute to the cautious outlook on the stock.
In another report released on December 3, Bank of America Securities also reiterated a Sell rating on the stock with a $85.00 price target.
DLTR’s price has also changed moderately for the past six months – from $96.720 to $112.920, which is a 16.75% increase.
