U.S. crude stockpiles fell 9.3M barrels last week, API says

U.S. crude stockpiles fell by 9.3 million barrels last week, according to the American Petroleum Institute, surpassing analysts' forecast of a 1.9 million barrel decline. Gasoline inventories increased by 4.8 million barrels, while distillate inventories rose by 2.5 million barrels. Cushing inventories decreased by 510,000 barrels. The Energy Information Administration will release its report on Wednesday. WTI crude oil traded at $55.13 per barrel.
