The three major A-share indices of Shanghai and Shenzhen rose by 1.2% to 3.4% throughout the day, with gains in insurance, lithium battery, and computing power stocks

The central parity rate of the RMB against the US dollar was raised by 29 points to 7.0573 per US dollar. The People's Bank of China today (17th) conducted a 468 billion yuan (the same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market, with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%. Additionally, 1,898 billion yuan of reverse repos are maturing, resulting in a net withdrawal of 143 billion yuan for the day.

The three major A-share indices showed a positive trend in the morning session, with gains expanding in the afternoon, closing up 1.2% to 3.4% for the day. The Shanghai Composite Index closed up 45 points or 1.2% at 3,870 points, with a turnover of 766.8 billion yuan. The Shenzhen Component Index closed up 309 points or 2.4% at 13,224 points, with a turnover of 1.04 trillion yuan. The ChiNext Index performed strongly, closing up 104 points or 3.4% at 3,175 points, with a turnover of 488.5 billion yuan.

Domestic bank stocks Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) and China Construction Bank (601939.SH) rose by 0.3% and 1%, respectively. Domestic insurance stocks China Pacific Insurance (601601.SH) and China Life Insurance (601628.SH) rose by 4.2% and 3.7%, respectively. In addition, CATL (300750.SZ) and BYD (002594.SZ) rose by 1.3% and 1%, respectively.

Gold-related stocks rebounded, with Zijin Mining (601899.SH), Shandong Gold (600547.SH), Zhongjin Gold (600489.SH), and Chifeng Jilong Gold Mining (600988.SH) rising by 1.8% to 3.5%.

Computing power and lithium battery stocks surged, with LianTe Technology (301205.SZ), Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable (601869.SH), Shengxin Lithium Energy (002240.SZ), and Jinyuan Co., Ltd. (000546.SZ) all hitting the daily limit.

Leading domestic chip stocks rose in the afternoon, with SMIC (688981.SH) and Hua Hong (688347.SH) rising by 2.3% to 4.2%. Cambricon Technologies (688256.SH) rebounded by 3.3%. ZTE Corporation (000063.SZ) rose by 3.3%.

The second domestic GPU stock, MuXi Co., Ltd. (688802.SH), opened high on its first day of listing, rising 568.83% to 700 yuan before climbing higher, closing up 692.95% at 829.9 yuan
