According to sources cited by Bloomberg, HSBC Holdings (00005.HK) CEO Noel Quinn is preparing to temporarily relocate to Hong Kong in the first quarter of next year to reduce his busy travel schedule, as he needs to fly to Asia multiple times a year.
It is reported that Quinn is expected to stay in Asia for about three months and plans to return to Europe before summer, hoping to have more time to visit the group's various departments in Asia during his stay in Hong Kong.
An HSBC spokesperson stated that the CEO will be based in the UK, but he frequently meets with clients and colleagues in Hong Kong and other markets
