Huawei-Dongfeng joint brand Yijing sees 1st pre-production prototype roll off line

Join us on Telegram or Google News The vehicle will next undergo winter testing in Mohe, Heilongjiang province, in northeastern China.Dongfeng announced at Huawei's Qiankun ecosystem conference on November 20 that their jointly developed new automotive brand would be named Yijing, with its first model set to debut at the Beijing auto show in April 2026.Yijing plans to launch at least one new model annually, gradually building a product portfolio spanning multiple segments and vehicle types, it said.Earlier this month, local media outlet Lanjinger reported that Yijing would launch its first model in the third quarter of next year, offering both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants.Yijing was previously referred to as the "DH Project." In January this year, Dongfeng and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement for intelligent vehicles, formally launching the project.In September, their joint laboratory was inaugurated, focusing on technologies including in-vehicle software and AI applications.On October 25, Huawei and Dongfeng's DH project team held a meeting in Wuhan --Dongfeng's headquarters city -- to advance the integration of Huawei's latest technologies into the project's products.Beyond Yijing, Huawei has adopted a similar collaborative model with GAC Group (HKG: 2238) to co-create a new brand named Qijing, which announced earlier today that its first model will be a shooting brake-style coupe.Yijing and Qijing represent a new model of collaboration between Huawei and domestic automakers, following the launch of five new brands under the HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) initiative.
