Japan to back clean-energy users with $1.3 billion in investment subsidies

Japan will provide $1.34 billion in subsidies to companies using clean energy to boost renewable energy demand and regional growth. The scheme, starting in fiscal 2026, aims to help Japan meet its clean energy targets and reduce fossil fuel reliance. Companies using decarbonised electricity and contributing to local regions are eligible for up to half of their capital expenditure. The initiative is part of Japan's "GX 2040 vision" to promote energy transition and economic growth.
