CNOOC announced the discovery of the Qinhuangdao 29-6 oil field with a capacity of 100 million tons in the shallow Neogene layer in the Bohai Sea. The Qinhuangdao 29-6 oil field is located in the central Bohai Sea, with the main oil-bearing formation being the lower section of the Minghuazhen Formation of the Neogene, which is shallowly buried, and the oil quality is medium to heavy crude oil. The discovery well encountered an oil layer of 66.7 meters, with a total drilling depth of 1,688 meters. Testing shows a daily production of 2,560 barrels of crude oil.
