China's CNOOC makes second big oil find in Bohai Sea

China's CNOOC Limited has discovered an oilfield in the central Bohai Sea with proved in-place volumes exceeding 100 million tons of oil equivalent. This is the second major find in the area, highlighting significant exploration potential in shallow slope zones. The Qinhuangdao 29-6 oilfield holds medium-heavy crude and challenges the conventional understanding of slope areas. The discovery well was drilled to 1,688 meters deep, encountering 66.7 meters of oil pay zones and producing about 2,560 barrels of oil per day.
