
"Hong Kong Stocks" Hang Seng Index futures settlement day rises 219 points, Baidu surges 9%, robotics concept stocks soar
The settlement day for Hong Kong stock index futures rose. The Hang Seng Index opened 1 point higher and then expanded its gains, rising by 294 points in the afternoon to reach 25,930 points, closing up 219 points or 0.9% at 25,854 points; the National Index rose 99 points or 1.1%, closing at 8,991 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index rose 95 points or 1.7%, closing at 5,578 points. The total market turnover for the day was HKD 199.769 billion.
The general GPU company TianShi ZhiXin (09903.HK) began its IPO today, aiming to raise approximately HKD 3.677 billion. Baidu (09888.HK) saw its stock price rise by 8.9% to HKD 129.7, as the market anticipates the Kunlun chip concept under Baidu. Chip stock SMIC (00981.HK) acquired a 49% stake in SMIC North for a final consideration of RMB 40.6 billion, with SMIC rising 4.2%. Its peer Hua Hong (01347.HK) rose 3.9%.
JD.com and Yushu Technology jointly opened a physical store, with the first store set to open tomorrow (31st). Robotics concept stocks are popular, with INNOSCIENCE (02577.HK) and SANHUA (02050.HK) rising 15.4% and 12.5%, respectively. Delta Electronics (00179.HK) rose 4.7%, and Lens Technology (06613.HK) rose 5.1%. Yuejiang (02432.HK) proposed to launch an A-share IPO on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, with its stock price rising 13.5%. Its peer UBTECH (09880.HK) announced that its chairman would not reduce his shareholding within a year, leading to an 8.3% increase in its stock price.
In other tech stocks, Alibaba (09988.HK), Tencent (00700.HK), and Bilibili (09626.HK) rose between 0.6% and 0.8%, Meituan (03690.HK) rose 0.1%, Kuaishou (01024.HK) and JD.com (09618.HK) rose 1.1% and 1.4%, respectively, while NetEase (09999.HK) rose 2.6%. Mobile component stocks such as QiuTai (01478.HK) rose 3%, while Sunny Optical (02382.HK) and AAC Technologies (02018.HK) rose over 2%. Automotive stocks Xiaomi (01810.HK), Nio (09866.HK), and Geely (00175.HK) rose between 2% and 3%, while BYD (01211.HK) rose 0.5%.
Russia indicated that Ukraine attempted to attack Putin's residence in northern Russia. Oil stocks CNOOC (00883.HK) and PetroChina (00857.HK) rose by 4% and 2.4%, respectively. Metal prices stabilized during the Asian session, with Zijin Mining (02899.HK) and China Gold International (02099.HK) falling by 3.6% and 2.7%, respectively, while Chalco (02600.HK) and China Molybdenum (03993.HK) rose by 5.3% and 4.1%. Jiangxi Copper (00358.HK) and Hongqiao (01378.HK) rose by 2.6% and 2.7%. In the financial sector, HSBC (00005.HK) and Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) rose by 0.9% and 0.1%, respectively, while AIA (01299.HK) fell by 0.7% Labubu blind box second-hand prices have significantly "plummeted," with some styles falling below the original price. Ganfeng Lithium (01772.HK) stated that it received a notice of prosecution from the Yichun Public Security Bureau regarding insider trading charges. Ganfeng Lithium opened down 5.7% but narrowed its losses, closing down 0.4%
