Disney pays $10 million to settle allegations of violating children's privacy laws
Disney (DIS.US) has reached a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice, agreeing to pay a civil fine of $10 million to resolve allegations of violating children's privacy laws in some videos uploaded to YouTube.
The U.S. Department of Justice stated that Disney failed to properly label certain videos uploaded to YouTube with a "child-specific" designation, allowing Disney to collect personal data from children under the age of 13 and use that information for targeted advertising
