Blockchain firm eyes $200M in tokenized water projects across SEA

Blockchain firm Global Settlement Network is launching a pilot project to tokenize water treatment sites in Jakarta, aiming to raise $35 million for upgrades and expand to $200 million in tokenized assets across Southeast Asia within a year. The initiative addresses a significant financing gap in water infrastructure, with over $4 trillion needed by 2040. The project will also test rupiah-stablecoin settlement rails and leverage Southeast Asia's growing crypto adoption, which saw a 69% increase in on-chain activity year-over-year.
