Chinese scientists print beating heart-like organs
Professor Xu Tao from the Shenzhen Tsinghua University Research Institute led a team to create this "tiny heart" using a biological 3D printer. It can beat rhythmically like a heart. Xu Tao introduced that in the next three to five years, it is expected to achieve 3D printing of relatively simple organs such as islets and bladders; patients with early-stage liver failure may be able to use a 3D printed "mini liver" for local organ repair.
