Baidu partners with AutoGo to launch fully driverless commercial operations in Abu Dhabi, planning to expand to more regions

Baidu (9888) announced that its autonomous driving mobility service platform, Luobo Kuaipao, has officially launched fully driverless commercial operations in Abu Dhabi in collaboration with AutoGo, an autonomous driving mobility company under K2 Group in the UAE. This marks the first time Luobo Kuaipao has introduced fully driverless mobility services to the public overseas. Starting from the 17th of this month, local residents and tourists can call Luobo Kuaipao's fully driverless vehicles through the AutoGo App, with services initially starting from Yas Island and plans to gradually expand to more areas in Abu Dhabi. In the initial phase, the service will cover the Yas Island leisure and entertainment center in Abu Dhabi, which has been designated as a permitted area for fully driverless operations. Users can download the AutoGo application to call a vehicle without a driver and personally experience driverless mobility. Goal to Cover Nationwide in Abu Dhabi Baidu stated that after the official launch on Yas Island, the service will gradually expand to various areas in Abu Dhabi as planned, with the first expansion areas including Reem Island, Al Maryah Island, and Saadiyat Island, and will continue to expand to more areas in the future, with the ultimate goal of achieving comprehensive coverage throughout the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Baidu: Business to Start Within Months, Proving Technology Maturity Zhang Liang, General Manager of Baidu's Intelligent Driving Business Group for Europe and the Middle East, stated that this cooperation, from the signing of the cooperation agreement to achieving publicly accessible fully driverless operations in just a few months, is a milestone. The speed of execution demonstrates the maturity of Luobo Kuaipao's technology, the strong operational capabilities of its partners, and the firm support from local regulatory authorities. Luobo and AutoGo Plan to Expand Fleet to Hundreds Within the Year The cooperation between Luobo Kuaipao and AutoGo began in March last year, when both parties announced plans to build the largest fully driverless fleet in Abu Dhabi. Based on this, they obtained the first batch of commercial operation permits for fully driverless vehicles in Abu Dhabi in mid-November last year and signed an agreement for the next phase, with plans to expand the fleet size to hundreds of vehicles by the end of 2026. The group indicated that Luobo Kuaipao will continue to expand fully driverless commercial mobility services with AutoGo in the future, serving more users and promoting Abu Dhabi's vision of becoming a smart city. Luobo Kuaipao's total autonomous driving mileage has exceeded 240 million kilometers to date, with fully driverless mileage surpassing 140 million kilometers. As of the end of October 2025, Luobo Kuaipao's global coverage has reached 22 cities, with an average of over 250,000 fully driverless operation orders per week, and a cumulative total of over 17 million service orders globally
