Hong Kong and China Gas (00003.HK) stated that to strengthen pipeline inspections, the company has introduced pipeline inspection drones to detect outdoor high-pressure gas transmission pipelines, accelerating and accurately grasping the latest status of the pipelines. The drones are equipped with laser gas detection capabilities and 3D terrain comparison technology, allowing them to monitor along the pipeline route in the air. Once a gas leak is detected, an immediate report is generated, and repair work is promptly initiated.

The Assistant General Manager of Gas Transmission Operations, Xu Tingyin, indicated that the company plans to participate in the government's next round of sandbox programs to achieve a target of approximately 15 kilometers of beyond visual line of sight operations, which will allow drone inspections to cover the entire 15-kilometer pipeline, further enhancing inspection efficiency
