On January 16th, the annual grand closing event "WAIC UP! Global Year-End Gala" of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) was held at the Hong Kong Science Park, marking the first time WAIC hosted its annual flagship event in Hong Kong. On that day, thousands of attendees gathered with AI experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, investors, and members of the Hong Kong Legislative Council from around the world to discuss technological prospects, industry integration, and a more globally influential innovation ecosystem. The conference received significant attention and support from various sectors in Hong Kong. The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, John Lee, delivered a video speech to inaugurate the conference, stating that AI should be leveraged to drive innovation, build an inclusive economic system, create more resilient communities, and sustainably shape the future for everyone.
