PayMe supports NFC mobile payment functionality
HSBC's electronic wallet PayMe has officially announced support for Near Field Communication (NFC) mobile payment functionality. By linking the PayMe UnionPay card to their mobile wallet, users can make contactless payments using the PayMe UnionPay card via NFC in Hong Kong, mainland China, Macau, and around the world. Currently, this feature is only available on specific mobile devices equipped with NFC technology and at merchants that support contactless payments via UnionPay cards through NFC technology.
Li Guan Kang, head of PayMe at HSBC, stated that the launch of this new feature allows the PayMe UnionPay card to integrate with a global merchant network, providing users with a convenient one-tap payment experience. As the number of users and transaction volumes steadily grow, they will continue to bring more innovative payment experiences to users in the future and strengthen support for local physical merchants to meet the consumption and payment needs of both parties.
PayMe is launching a related promotion from now until April 22, where PayMe UnionPay card users can earn up to 10% cashback on accumulated transaction amounts when making payments using the NFC feature in Hong Kong, mainland China, and around the world
