AHF Welcomes H.R. 7148 Reforms That Target Pharmacy Benefit Managers

AHF supports H.R. 7148, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026, which aims to reform the role of pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) in the prescription drug supply chain. The bill proposes to eliminate PBM remuneration for Medicare Part D drugs outside of legitimate service fees and introduces new reporting requirements to enhance transparency. AHF emphasizes that these reforms, which have bipartisan support, are essential to reduce healthcare costs and curb the abuses of PBMs. AHF hopes the bill will be enacted by January 30.
