Under the policy background of the national active promotion of the integration of medical services in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and national health, the "First Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Medical Technology Innovation and Transformation Summit," co-hosted by the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Clinical Medicine Society and the Guangdong Clinical Medicine Society, was held recently (on the 17th) at the W Hotel in West Kowloon, Hong Kong. Exchange Among Renowned Experts Exploring Cutting-edge Fields like AI Several well-known scholars and industry representatives delivered keynote speeches at the conference, including Professor Mo Shujin from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Yang Mengsu from City University of Hong Kong, Professor Xu Huji from Shanghai Changzheng Hospital, and Professor Zhang Yi from Zhengzhou University School of Medical Sciences. The topics covered cutting-edge fields such as lung cancer treatment, gynecological tumors, lymphoma research, and AI medical technology, sharing the latest research results and practical experiences in immunotherapy and cell therapy. In the roundtable forum, participants included professionals from medical institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and insurance organizations such as Fudan University, Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, Huitong Group, and Sun Life Financial, engaging in discussions on practical challenges such as research funding, insurance coverage, and patient accessibility, exploring ways to break down financial and policy barriers to ensure that cutting-edge medical advancements truly benefit patients. Hong Kong's Role as a "Quality Certifier" Regarding Hong Kong's role in medical innovation in the Greater Bay Area, Dr. Liu Chuzhao, Vice President of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Clinical Medicine Society and Medical Administrative Director of the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital, believes that Hong Kong's advantage lies in connecting with international standards, stating, "We are the 'quality certifiers' connecting the Greater Bay Area to the international community." He cited the proton therapy at the Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital as an example, indicating that it serves not only the local community but also paves the way for the Greater Bay Area, validating the clinical effectiveness and feasibility of new technologies. Professor Yang Mengsu, Senior Vice President (Innovation and Enterprise) of City University of Hong Kong, pointed out that the key to successful research transformation lies in "mechanism innovation." He emphasized that the transition from laboratory to clinical practice requires collaboration among researchers, investors, industry, and government to build a comprehensive ecosystem. Professor Yang particularly mentioned that establishing "mutual trust" during the transformation process is the most challenging, and this summit provides a space for in-depth communication, helping to break down invisible barriers in the transformation process
