According to a press conference from the National Immigration Administration, in 2025, the national immigration management agencies checked a total of 697 million entries and exits, an increase of 14.2% year-on-year, setting a new historical high. Among them, 335 million entries and exits were by residents from the mainland (mainland China), and 279 million were by residents from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, representing year-on-year increases of 15.1% and 10.1%, respectively; 82.035 million entries and exits were by foreigners, an increase of 26.4% year-on-year, with 30.08 million foreigners entering visa-free, accounting for 73.1% of the total foreign entries, a year-on-year increase of 49.5%.
