The eighth Hong Kong-Switzerland financial cooperation dialogue was held in Switzerland

The eighth financial cooperation dialogue between Hong Kong and Switzerland was held on January 29 (Bern time) in Bern, Switzerland. This financial cooperation dialogue was co-organized by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the Swiss Federal Secretariat for International Financial Matters under the Swiss Federal Department of Finance, aiming to strengthen cooperation in financial services between Hong Kong and Switzerland and to exchange views on important issues related to the international financial system.

The dialogue was co-chaired by HKMA Deputy Chief Executive Chen Wei-min and Christoph Konig, Deputy Secretary General of the Swiss Federal Secretariat for International Financial Matters. Participants included representatives from the Swiss National Bank, the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority, and the HKMA. Attendees from both regions discussed regional and local prospects and policy challenges, as well as the latest developments and potential cooperation opportunities in sustainable finance, financial technology, and connectivity.

After the financial cooperation dialogue, the Swiss Bankers Association and the Hong Kong Private Wealth Management Association jointly hosted a financial seminar for private institutions to exchange views on the latest financial trends and developments between Switzerland and Hong Kong, including topics such as the application of artificial intelligence in the banking sector, digital assets, and cross-border opportunities and challenges, and to explore further cooperation opportunities
