It aims to expand its international footprint to 40 countries and regions by year-end.</p><p>Nio officially launched the Firefly brand at Nio Day 2024 on December 21, 2024, positioning it to compete with Mini and Smart. The brand's namesake model, the Firefly EV, was launched in China on April 19, 2025.</p><p>The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker originally planned to launch Firefly models in Europe first.
