Tesla Rival Xiaomi's SU7 Ultra EV Sales Plummet To Under 50 Units In December: Report

Xiaomi Corp's (OTC:XIACF) (OTC:XIACY) SU7 Ultra EV sales have reportedly plummeted to under 50 units in December. Xiaomi had earlier recorded its first-ever profit from EV sales in the third quarter of 2025. 45 Units In December 2025 The SU7 Ultra clocked in 45 units sold in December 2025 in China, according to a report by CarNewsChina on Saturday, which cited data from local Chinese sources. However, the sedan's cumulative sales have passed CEO Lei Jun's target of selling 10,000 units of the car, the report said. According to the report, the EV's sales figures consistently hovered around the 2,000-3,000 unit mark from March to August, with sales beginning a steep decline in September, with 488 units sold. Ford-Xiaomi Partnership? The news comes as reports emerged of a possible partnership between Ford Motor Co. (NYSE:F) and Xiaomi to manufacture EVs in the U.S. However, the reports were denied by both automakers, with a Ford spokesperson saying that the reports were "completely false." Chinese EVs In North America Chinese EVs have been a point of contention in North America, with the U.S. essentially denying the entry of Chinese automakers in the country via tariffs. However, with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's new agreement with China to allow up to 49,000 EVs in Canada at a reduced tariff rate. What's more, Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd. (OTC:GELYF) (OTC:GELHY) is also reportedly mulling a possible entry into the U.S. market in the next two years, with Zeekr making a possible debut in the country. It's worth noting that Zeekr also builds Alphabet Inc.'s (NASDAQ:GOOGL) (NASDAQ:GOOG) Waymo's "Ojai" Robotaxi, currently under testing in the U.S. Tesla Sales Decline Meanwhile, Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) sales also declined in Europe, with the automaker recording 35,280 units sold in December 2025 in the European market.
