Image credit: Xpeng)</figcaption></figure><p>Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV, HKG: 9868) is testing Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities on its yet-to-be-released GX flagship SUV (sport utility vehicle), local media outlet Cailian reported on Friday.</p><p>A camouflaged Xpeng vehicle bearing &#34;L4 Autonomous Driving Test&#34; and &#34;Caution&#34; markings was observed undergoing testing on open roads in the company's headquarters city Guangzhou, the report noted.</p><p>The Xpeng GX will feature four Turing chips with an effective computing power of 3000 TOPS, enabling Level 4 autonomous driving capabilities, the report said.</p>    <div>        <p><span>Join us on </span>            Telegram            <span> or </span>            Google News        </p>    </div><p>Xpeng first mentioned the GX large six-seat SUV on February 5, sharing its first three official images.</p><p>The GX is built on Xpeng's new SEPA (Smart Electric Platform Architecture) 3.0 physical AI vehicle architecture, incorporating technologies like steer-by-wire and rear-wheel steering, according to company chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng.</p><p>Xpeng did not disclose further specifications for the GX, though it will apparently feature the company's in-house developed Turing AI chip.</p><p>The company unveiled the Turing AI chip in June 2025, with each chip delivering about 700 TOPS of computing power.
