According to a report by Bloomberg, FountainVest is considering selling the franchisee CFB Group for Papa John’s and Dairy Queen (DQ) in mainland China, with a company valuation of approximately $500 million. As FountainVest is evaluating the transaction, the formal sale process may not begin until later this year, and FountainVest may also suspend the sale.
According to official information, CFB Group operates over 1,800 stores in the Greater China region and employs more than 10,000 full-time and part-time staff. Its brands also include Brut Eatery and Jinwa Ju. FountainVest acquired CFB Group from EQT AB in 2022, but the purchase price has not been disclosed
