According to a report by Bloomberg citing sources, Indonesia has notified that the production quota for the world's largest nickel mine, Weda Bay Nickel, this year is only 12 million tons, far lower than last year's 42 million tons. The benchmark three-month nickel futures price on the London Metal Exchange rose by 2.8% to USD 17,980 per ton. This news also boosted the stock price of Ganfeng Lithium (01772.HK) today (11th), closing at HKD 61.2, up 5.15%, with a trading volume of 12.1492 million shares, involving HKD 733 million.

The nickel mine is jointly owned by Tsingshan Holding Group, French Eramet, and Aneka Tambang. Eramet has issued a statement confirming the extent of the quota reduction for Weda Bay Nickel and stated that the company plans to apply for a quota adjustment
