The three major A-share indices of Shanghai and Shenzhen opened lower by 0.3% to 1.6%, with oil stocks and shipping stocks rising

The situation in Iran has escalated, and the mainland shipping index's European line futures main contract once hit the daily limit. The central parity rate of the RMB against the USD is reported at 6.9236, down 8 points. The People's Bank of China today (2nd) conducted a 19 billion RMB (same below) seven-day reverse repurchase operation in the open market, with the operation rate remaining at 1.4%; there are no reverse repos maturing, resulting in a net injection of 19 billion RMB for the day.

The three major A-share indices opened lower by 0.3% to 1.6%. The Shanghai Composite Index opened down 11 points or 0.3%, at 4,151 points; the Shenzhen Component Index opened down 167 points or 1.2%, at 14,327 points; the ChiNext Index opened down 53 points or 1.6%, at 3,257 points.

In the banking sector, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (601398.SH) opened down 0.3%, while China Construction Bank (601939.SH) opened up 0.1%. Additionally, CATL (300750.SZ) opened down 0.3%, and BYD (002594.SZ) opened down 1.5%.

The US and Israel's military strikes against Iran have led to a rise in international oil and gold prices. Oil stocks such as China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation (600028.HK) opened up 5.3%, PetroChina (601857.SH) opened up 8.7%, CNOOC (601808.SH) and ZPEC (603619.SH) opened at the daily limit. Shipping stocks COSCO SHIPPING Energy (600026.SH) and NJTC (601975.SH) also hit the daily limit.

Lithium mining stocks fell back, with Ganfeng Lithium (002460.SZ) and Tianqi Lithium (002466.SZ) opening down 0.5% and 1.1%, respectively.

Chip stocks declined, with SMIC (688981.SH) opening down 1.8% and Hua Hong (688347.SH) opening down 2.9%. AI chip stock Cambricon (688256.SH) opened down 2.4%. Domestic GPU stocks Muxi Co., Ltd. (688802.SH) and Moore Threads (688795.SH) opened down 2.7% and 2.5%, respectively.

The Hong Kong Stock Connect eligible securities list on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange has added Dongpeng Beverage, with Dongpeng Beverage (605499.SH) A shares opening down 1.1%.
