Meituan (03690.HK) subsidiary Meituan Drone (Keeta Drone) announced the official launch of the trial operation of the "Tai Po Ting Kok Village Drone Route" in collaboration with the Hong Kong Youth Services Association. The initiative aims to utilize low-altitude logistics technology to provide meal delivery services for the elderly in the area, addressing the challenges of "long distances, labor shortages, and long waiting times" faced by remote rural areas.

The newly opened drone route departs from the Science Park and goes directly to Ting Kok Village, taking advantage of the aerial straight-line distance to avoid ground traffic congestion, significantly reducing the travel time from over one and a half hours to about 10 minutes. During the initial trial phase of the route, meal delivery services for lunch and dinner are planned to be provided from Monday to Saturday (excluding public holidays).

Yan Yan, head of Keeta Drone's Hong Kong operations, pointed out that conducting regular deliveries in complex rural environments fully demonstrates the technical stability of Keeta Drone, and hopes to expand this model to more communities with similar needs in the future
