In the fourth quarter of 2025, Hong Kong's port cargo throughput increased by 1.1% year-on-year, reaching 44.8 million metric tons

The Census and Statistics Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government announced the port cargo throughput data for the fourth quarter of 2025 on March 5. The port cargo throughput in that quarter increased by 1.1% year-on-year, reaching 44.8 million metric tons. The cargo arriving at the port decreased by 6.0% year-on-year, totaling 25.6 million metric tons; the cargo departing from the port increased by 12.3%, reaching 19.2 million metric tons. The total port cargo throughput for the entire year of 2025 decreased by 4.0% year-on-year, amounting to 169.6 million metric tons.
