Alibaba, Bytedance, and Tencent are seeking to alleviate the impact of a global memory chip shortage by turning to domestic chipmakers. The companies are in discussions to purchase more DRAM and NAND flash memory chips from two Chinese firms, moving away from reliance on Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix for additional chip supply.
