The "Hong Kong Building" Kwun Tong LT Tower applies for renovation to provide 274 student dormitory rooms, with the smallest area being only 58 square feet
The revitalization project of the office building at 31 Kwun Tong Entrepreneurship Street, LT Tower, has applied for conversion into student dormitories, providing 274 rooms with areas ranging from 58 square feet to 262 square feet, offering a total of 517 beds. The floor plan shows that most rooms will not have independent toilets and bathrooms, which will be located in designated areas.
Documents indicate that the building occupies approximately 9,946 square feet, with a total floor area of about 94,520 square feet, mainly renovating parts of the ground floor and floors 2 to 15 to provide 31 single rooms and 243 double rooms. The project will also offer various supporting facilities, including self-study rooms, meeting rooms, multipurpose rooms, activity rooms, a gym, and a laundry room. The shops, restaurants, and vehicle parking and loading/unloading facilities located on the ground and first floors will remain unchanged.
LT Tower was formerly known as Wing Wah Industrial Building, acquired by "Corduroy King" Jiang Dake around 2015, who invested HKD 300 million to revitalize and convert it into the office building LT Tower, which was previously leased out over five years ago at a proposed rent of HKD 19 per square foot
