According to reports, ByteDance and Alibaba plan to purchase Huawei's new AI chips
Reuters cited informed sources reporting that Huawei's new AI chip customer testing is progressing smoothly, with tech giants like ByteDance and Alibaba (09988.HK) planning to place orders.
The report mentioned that Huawei's new chip, the 950PR, has higher compatibility with NVIDIA's CUDA software system and faster response times, which has pleased tech companies. Informed sources indicated that Huawei plans to ship approximately 750,000 units of the 950PR chip this year. Samples were sent to customers in January, and mass production is expected to begin next month, laying the foundation for full shipments in the second half of the year.
Industry insiders previously indicated that although the government strongly encourages the use of domestic semiconductors, Huawei still finds it difficult to persuade private tech giants to adopt its current flagship chip, the Ascend 910C, in large quantities
