Wang Zhibin, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Finance of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, stated at a regular press conference on the 30th that during the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment will strengthen the planning, deployment, and organization and implementation of major scientific research projects. As the leading department, the Ministry is actively promoting the launch of the "15th Five-Year Plan" National Key Research and Development Program's "Key Technologies for Prevention and Control of New Pollutants" key special project. This is the nation's first scientific research special project specifically for new pollutants. The Ministry of Ecology and Environment will focus on typical new pollutants such as perfluorinated compounds, short-chain chlorinated paraffins, and antibiotics, and systematically carry out full-chain scientific and technological research on "screening, assessment, and control," developing key technologies and equipment for rapid and accurate monitoring and screening, intelligent risk assessment and early warning, and efficient synergistic treatment and green substitution to enhance high-quality technological supply.
