The S&P 500 Index closed down 0.1% preliminarily, with Consumer Staples down 1.6%, Energy down 0.9%, and Technology up 0.7%. The Nasdaq 100 Index closed up 0.1% preliminarily. Among its components, Marvell Technology closed up 6.9% preliminarily, while Broadcom, AMD, AppLovin, NVIDIA, and ASML ADRs rose at least about 2%. Zscaler fell 3.7%, CrowdStrike fell 4.2%, Cadence Design Systems fell 5.5%, and Palo Alto Networks PANW fell 6.7%. Salesforce closed down 3.6% preliminarily, leading declines among Dow components along with Nike and IBM. Amazon, on the other hand, rose 1.9%, leading gains with NVIDIA.
