From April 11th to 12th, the High-Level Forum on the Development of Intelligent Electric Vehicles (2026) was held at the second phase of the Beijing National Convention Center, with the theme "Promoting the Intelligent, Green, Integrated, and International Development of New Energy Vehicles."

According to Hesai Technology Senior Vice President Zhang Wei, as of today, 20% of new energy vehicles are equipped with lidar. Based on our calculations and available forecast data, this proportion will exceed 40% by February 2026, and we expect the adoption rate to surpass 56% by 2030. He noted that while the adoption rate of lidar in China is developing rapidly, in reality, global annual sales of new cars will approach 100 million units in 2025, with lidar adoption at only 3.3 million units, a penetration rate of merely 3%. "Therefore, combined with the national policy encouraging companies to "go global," we believe overseas markets remain a vast blue ocean," he said.
