"European Stocks" U.S. blocks the Strait of Hormuz, the pan-European Stoxx 600 index closed down 0.2%
The market assessed the developments in the Middle East over the weekend, as the United States began to block the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, prohibiting ships from entering or leaving Iran. European stock markets fell on Monday. The pan-European Stoxx 600 index closed down 0.2%.
The UK FTSE 100 index closed down 17 points or 0.2% at 10,582 points. The German DAX index closed down 61 points or 0.3% at 23,742 points. The French CAC 40 index closed down 23 points or 0.3% at 8,235 points
