In 2025, Autohome experienced a significant change in equity, as in August 2025, Haier Group's CARTECH spent $1.8 billion to acquire a 43% stake in Autohome from Yunchen Capital, becoming the controlling shareholder, while Yunchen Capital's stake was reduced to 5.1%, losing control over Autohome.
With Haier Group taking over Autohome, there were also adjustments in the management team. At that time, Autohome's director and CEO Yang Song resigned from his positions as director and CEO. Ms. Ding Keke resigned as a director and a member of the board's nomination and corporate governance committee and the compensation committee; Dr. Lu Fan also resigned as a director.
Autohome subsequently announced that Liu Chi had been appointed as the chairman of the board, director, CEO, and chairman of the board's nomination and corporate governance committee and compensation committee; Liang Haishan had been appointed as a director and a member of the board's nomination and corporate governance committee; Ms. Zhang Cuimei had been appointed as a director; Mr. Zhou Shenglei had been appointed as a director and a member of the board's nomination and corporate governance committee; Fang Xing had been appointed as a director and a member of the board's compensation committee, effective upon the completion of the share transfer.
Autohome was founded by Li Xiang, the founder of Li Auto, and later, Telstra became the major shareholder. In 2016, Telstra exited, leading to a fierce battle between the then management and Ping An, which ultimately resulted in Ping An defeating the existing management and gaining control of Autohome.
In June 2016, after acquiring Autohome for $1.6 billion, Ping An appointed Lu Min as the chairman and CEO of Autohome. After Lu Min took over, he cleaned out the original management team of Autohome, with original management members Qin Zhi, Zhong Yiqi, Han Song, and others leaving one after another.
Since then, Autohome has undergone multiple leadership changes and management adjustments until Haier Group took over Autohome.
Annual revenue of 6.4 billion, down 8.4% year-on-year
In recent years, Autohome's development has faced pressure, with its revenue in 2025 down 8.4% year-on-year, and adjusted net profit declining by 21.6%.
The annual report shows that Autohome's revenue for 2023, 2024, and 2025 was 7.184 billion, 7.04 billion, and 6.452 billion yuan (approximately $922 million); gross profit was 5.772 billion, 5.556 billion, and 4.668 billion yuan (approximately $668 million); and gross margins were 80.3%, 78.9%, and 72.4%.
