NDRC: The Purpose of Intelligence Is to Improve Efficiency, Not Simply Replace Workers; Policy Balance Points Must Be Identified

The State Council Information Office held a series of theme press conferences titled "Starting Strong for the '15th Five-Year Plan'" on April 17. Fu Jiuling, Director of the Industrial Development Department of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), stated that the purpose of intelligence is to improve efficiency, not simply to replace workers, and that policy balance points must be accurately identified.

Fu Jiuling noted that during the '15th Five-Year Plan' period, constructing a modern industrial system with advanced manufacturing as its backbone is of paramount importance. In the next steps, priority will be given to promoting the high-end, intelligent, and green development of the manufacturing industry.
