Tencent Cloud held the "WeTechAcademy AI Campus Tour - University of Hong Kong Station" event yesterday (16th) at the University of Hong Kong, officially announcing the launch of the 2026 "AICANDOIT" Tencent Cloud Hackathon Game Development Challenge.

According to the introduction, this global competition is hosted by Tencent Cloud and has established five major competition regions: Hong Kong and Macau, East China, North China, South China, and Southeast Asia. After internal selection and regional roadshows, the winning teams will be invited to participate in the finals of the 2026 "Tencent Global Digital Ecosystem Conference" held in September, competing for a token prize pool worth millions of Hong Kong dollars.

The competition encourages participants to view AI not just as a tool to enhance engineering efficiency but as a new engine to inspire imagination. In addition to generating code and framework logic, the conference encourages teams to integrate AI technology into core game elements such as world-building, concept art, sound design, and user security systems.

Furthermore, the "AICANDOIT" Hackathon offers a token prize pool worth millions of Hong Kong dollars, with the highest individual award valued at HKD 100,000. The event will provide participants with top-notch technical platforms, abundant resource support, and authoritative industry recognition.

Notably, at the event, a student from the University of Hong Kong showcased a gamified learning application called StarQuest, developed using Tencent Cloud's no-code tool CodeBuddy. The application, themed around space exploration, is designed specifically for children aged 6 to 12 with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) tendencies, aiming to address their biggest obstacle in learning: difficulty in maintaining attention
