7-Eleven data breach affects over 185,000 people’s personal data

A data breach at 7-Eleven has compromised the personal data of over 185,000 individuals, including names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. The breach, reported in April, was attributed to the ShinyHunters group, who threatened to publish the data unless paid. The hackers accessed an internal server containing sensitive franchisee documents, and the breach also involved Social Security numbers and driver’s licenses, according to state attorney general listings.
