Minecraft Live 2026: free capes and big reveals

Minecraft fans, clear your schedule. Mojang is shaking up its usual showcase with a special edition of Minecraft Live, and the buzz around it has the community more energized than ever.

Rather than the typical studio presentation, this installment is being broadcast live from TwitchCon Europe 2026, giving the event a different flavor and a real-world stage. The change in format has only fueled anticipation for what the studio has in store.

When Minecraft Live 2026 starts

The showcase goes live today, May 30, at 9:30 a.m. PT, which translates to 11:30 a.m. ET and 4:30 p.m. BST. It is being staged in person at TwitchCon in Rotterdam, Netherlands, so fans in the area can actually attend and watch it unfold live.

Times shift around the globe, of course. Viewers in central Europe catch it at 5:30 p.m. CEST, while fans in India tune in at 9:00 p.m. IST and those in China at 11:30 p.m. CST. Farther east, the broadcast spills into the next morning, hitting Japan at 12:30 a.m. JST on May 31, eastern Australia at 1:30 a.m. AEST and New Zealand at 3:30 a.m. NZST.

Where to watch

For anyone not making the trip to Rotterdam, the stream will be easy to find. Minecraft Live 2026 will be carried on the game’s official YouTube and Twitch channels, and viewers also have the option of watching along on TikTok.

What to expect

Mojang has been teasing the lineup, and a recently posted trailer leaned heavily on the Sulfur Cube. That has fans expecting the Chaos Cubed game drop to be a centerpiece, with a release date reveal looking likely.

There is also reason to watch for news on the sequel front. Mojang unveiled Minecraft Dungeons 2 back at its March 2026 event, so the studio could well use this stage to share a release date for that highly anticipated follow-up.

Two free capes to grab

Part of the fun comes in the form of collectible rewards, and there are two on offer depending on how you watch.

The first is the Builder cape, available to anyone tuning in to the livestream from home. Its design features an upside-down iron pickaxe set against a crafting table background. The second is the Crafter cape, reserved for fans attending TwitchCon in person. It carries a similar look but flips the pickaxe upright, making it a nice keepsake for those there in the flesh.

A LEGO tie-in too

The reveals may not stop at the game itself. LEGO has already unveiled 21591 The Twisted Warden Battle, the first LEGO Minecraft set to spin out of Minecraft Dungeons 2. The 438-piece model is built around a hulking new hostile mob set to debut in the game and is due to launch August 1, 2026, with pre-orders already open.

More LEGO Minecraft reveals have been confirmed, and additional details about the Twisted Warden set could surface during the Minecraft Live broadcast. With a fresh wave of LEGO models also arriving in early June, there is plenty for collectors and players alike to keep an eye on.
