He revealed that capacity is currently climbing by increments of 20,000 to 30,000 units a month, and the company is working around the clock to meet the challenge.</p><p>The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker will focus on its battery division and optimize resource allocation, with the goal of fully tapping the capacity potential of the second-generation Blade Battery.</p><p>&#34;As our battery capacity increases, I believe there will be good output this year,&#34; Wang said. &#34;Once our capacity ramps up well next year, I believe both the domestic and international markets will drive growth simultaneously.&#34;</p><p>This capacity bottleneck mainly stems from production line upgrades. BYD is switching from the first-generation Blade Battery to the second-generation product equipped with flash charging capabilities, which has prolonged the delivery cycles for several mainstream models.</p><p>The second-generation Blade Battery was officially launched in March this year, breaking the industry's charging speed record. The battery takes only 5 minutes to charge from 10% to 70%, and just 9 minutes to reach 97%.</p><p>As production line upgrades gradually wrapped up in May, BYD's sales have begun to show signs of recovery. The company sold 383,453 NEVs wholesale in May, edging up 0.26% from a year earlier.</p><p>This slight increase ended the company's previous eight-month streak of sales declines. Explosive growth in overseas markets became the biggest bright spot, with overseas sales reaching a record 160,644 units in May.</p><p>To further boost sales, BYD is accelerating its expansion into the high-end market and intensively launching new models. Da Tang (literally translating to Big Tang, Great Tang or Grand Tang) EV, the first D-class flagship SUV of its Dynasty lineup, will officially go on sale on June 17.</p><p>The full-size SUV has a pre-sales price range of 250,000 yuan to 320,000 yuan. Within the first two weeks of opening for pre-sales, pre-orders for the Da Tang EV rapidly surpassed 100,000 units.</p><p>The Da Tang EV is equipped with the latest second-generation Blade Battery, achieving a record maximum pure electric range of 950 kilometers. The model also features megawatt-level flash charging technology, capable of reaching a peak charging power of 1,000 kilowatts.</p><p>In addition, the N8L flash-charging edition under the high-end brand Denza is also expected to hit the market in June.
