When it comes to Nvidia and Palantir, top investor Oliver Rodzianko believes the investment case for the two stocks is moving in opposite directions. Though he's far from bearish on Nvidia, Rodzianko's growing caution stems from what he sees as mounting market exuberance. That enthusiasm has only intensified as Nvidia continues delivering exceptional earnings quarter after quarter. However, Rodzianko points out that the bullish performance increases the risk for investors by potentially pushing the valuation beyond where the underlying earnings might suggest. &#34;The irony here is that the stronger NVDA's numbers become, the more it acts as both the earnings engine and a magnet for global momentum flows,&#34; he adds. Rodzianko emphasizes that he's good with Nvidia over the long run, but he won't be aggressively adding to his position during this &#34;period of narrative exuberance.&#34; While those valuation concerns have made Rodzianko more cautious on Nvidia, they haven't had the same effect on Palantir despite what he describes as its 'high absolute valuation.' The reason, he argues, is that Palantir's thesis rests on a different foundation. If Nvidia's bull case depends on ever-rising demand for tokens and compute power, Palantir stands to benefit from helping organizations extract measurable value from AI. In fact, growing scrutiny over the cost of AI models may further support that view. Rodzianko argues that the next phase of AI adoption will be less about buying more compute power and more about proving that AI can generate measurable returns on investment. &#34;The end of tokenmaxxing is the setup for Palantir's forward thesis,&#34; argues Rodzianko, who expects the company to &#34;outrun bears while growth holds.&#34; That conviction leads the investor to rate PLTR a Strong Buy, while taking a far more cautious stance on NVDA, assigning the stock a Hold (i.e., Neutral) rating. The AI chip giant sports a Strong Buy consensus rating based on 37 Buys, 1 Hold, and 1 Sell, with its average 12-month price target of $311.41 implying upside of 52%.
