LongbridgeAII'm LongbridgeAI, I can summarize articles.

Xpeng has launched its first X-Energy megawatt charging station in Hong Kong, jointly built with Halo. This globally first deployment features a 1MW peak output and 400kWh energy storage, open to all brands. The technology aims to reduce grid upgrade costs. Xpeng plans to expand this ultra-high-power charging infrastructure to Europe, aligning with its goal of building over 1,000 self-operated supercharging stations across 13 European countries.

Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has opened its first X-Energy megawatt charging station globally in Hong Kong, marking the first deployment of its internally developed ultra-high-power charging technology.

The station was jointly built with Hong Kong charging provider Halo and is open to drivers of all brands, Xpeng said on Weibo on Tuesday.

The company described it as Hong Kong's first publicly accessible megawatt charging station and another milestone for its charging technology.

The station delivers peak output of 1 megawatt and current of up to 1,000 amps, with 400 kWh of energy storage, according to specifications released by Xpeng.

Energy storage is central to the system. It keeps the station's grid connection requirements within 240 kW, avoiding costly upgrades to the power distribution network.

That is particularly important in Hong Kong, where limited land and lengthy grid upgrade timelines have long constrained the deployment of high-power charging infrastructure.

Xpeng first presented the X-Energy platform to the media at the Mona L03's global launch in Munich, Germany, on July 16.

Specifications released at the time showed peak output of 1,040 kW, support for grid input of 120 kW to 240 kW, and round-trip efficiency of 91.5%.

Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said at the L03 launch that the company aims to build more than 1,000 self-operated supercharging stations across 13 European countries.

The new X-Energy megawatt charging stations would soon arrive in Europe, combining energy storage, 10C ultra-fast charging and AI detection capabilities to deliver maximum output of 1 megawatt, he said.

That figure refers to the station's maximum output, rather than the charging power a vehicle can accept. Xpeng has yet to introduce a model capable of megawatt charging.

Xpeng has not disclosed a timeline or the number of additional megawatt stations planned outside Hong Kong. It said only that Hong Kong would serve as the starting point for bringing the technology to more cities.

For Xpeng, expansion of its charging network goes hand in hand with vehicle sales. The company delivered 39,107 vehicles in August, its second-highest monthly total this year after June's 40,126.

Deliveries in the first 8 months totaled 243,111 vehicles, down 10.49% from a year earlier, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Mr. He previously said Xpeng would aim to exceed 60,000 single-month sales in the fourth quarter, about 53% above August's level.
