Recently, the national key research and development plan in the field of hydrogen internal combustion engines, led by Weichai Power, has achieved a milestone breakthrough. Through joint testing and verification in Beijing and Weifang, the hydrogen internal combustion engine has reached the highest level of effective thermal efficiency according to current publicly available data both domestically and internationally, with its overall strength firmly positioned in the top tier of global hydrogen internal combustion engines. The project team conducted simultaneous testing in Beijing and Weifang, achieving an engine power of 580 horsepower, a torque of 2750 N·m, and an effective thermal efficiency of 46.8%. The overall transient response speed has improved by 8% compared to traditional diesel engines, and with a simplified post-treatment system, it has the potential to meet the National VII emission standards. The three core performance indicators of power, economy, and environmental protection have already met the project requirements ahead of schedule
