The market trading scale of the Southern Power Grid operating area will exceed 1.2 trillion kilowatt-hours by 2025

On March 13, Jin Shi Data reported that the Guangzhou Power Trading Center recently released the "Southern Power Market 2025 Annual Report." The report shows that after ten years of exploration and three years of trial operation, the Southern Power Market has smoothly transitioned into a continuous settlement trial operation phase. Relying on the "1+N+5X" rule system, it has achieved full acceptance of national rules and unification of regional frameworks, creating a standardized, open, and transparent market environment for over 280,000 registered entities. In 2025, the market trading scale in the Southern Power Grid operating area will exceed 1.2 trillion kilowatt-hours, accounting for over 67% of the total electricity consumption in society. In 2025, the Guangzhou Power Trading Center will achieve a power delivery scale of 261.6 billion kilowatt-hours in support of the national "West-to-East Power Transmission" strategy, setting a new historical record, with clean energy accounting for over 82%. In terms of assisting in achieving the "dual carbon" goals, the trading scale of green electricity and green certificates will exceed 450 billion kilowatt-hours, achieving leapfrog growth and leading the nation in market activity. "2026 marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the Guangzhou Power Trading Center. The center will continue to deepen market-oriented reforms, resolutely implement the national requirements for improving the nationwide unified electricity market system, and continuously contribute replicable and promotable 'Southern Experience' to the national unified electricity market," said a relevant person in charge of the Guangzhou Power Trading Center
