The battery materials conference co-hosted by China Minmetals Corporation and Fastmarkets was held today in Shanghai. Ge Honglin, president of the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association, stated at the conference that by 2027, China's self-produced lithium resource supply is expected to reach at least 770,000 tons, an increase of 83.3% compared to 2024, effectively supporting the development needs of China's industry. In addition, China's overseas equity lithium resource supply is also growing rapidly. According to data shared by Ge Honglin, the supply of self-produced lithium resources from spodumene, lepidolite, salt lakes, and recycling in China for 2024 is expected to be 50,000 tons, 150,000 tons, 140,000 tons, and 80,000 tons, respectively, and is expected to reach 180,000 tons, 150,000 tons, 240,000 tons, and 200,000 tons by 2027, representing increases of 260%, 0%, 71.18%, and 150%, respectively
