ZAWYA-PROJECTS: JV breaks ground for $210mln Atum integrated solar complex in Egypt’s SCZONE
A joint venture has commenced construction on the $210 million Atum Solar Complex in Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone. The complex will feature factories producing 2GW of solar cells and modules annually, targeting local and export markets. Led by China's JA Solar, the project involves partners from the UAE, Bahrain, and Egypt, and aims to create 840 jobs, enhance renewable energy supply chains, and boost exports. The project is expected to be operational in three years.
