Solid-state EV batteries take another big step forward in China
China has introduced its first national standard for solid-state electric vehicle (EV) batteries, marking a significant advancement towards mass production of this promising technology. The standard, released by the National Automotive Standardization Technical Committee, is titled "Solid-State Battery for electric vehicle – Part 1: Terms and Classification" and is currently open for public discussion. This move is part of China's strategy to maintain its lead in the electrification of vehicles, with domestic companies like BYD and CATL pushing forward with innovative battery technologies.
